NCEL to host leadership development webinar today

THE National College for Educational Leadership (NCEL), in partnership with the Caribbean Maritime University (CMU), will host a leadership development webinar focusing on the Blue Ocean Strategy.
The webinar will be held today at The University of the West Indies (UWI) Regional Headquarters building, under the theme ‘Achieving Sustained Organisational Success: the Blue Ocean Perspective’.
Addressing a JIS Think Tank Thursday, principal director of NCEL, Dr Taneisha Ingleton ,said the college has taken on a new approach to leadership and planning, and that is the Blue Ocean perspective.
The Blue Ocean Strategy is a management and leadership paradigm that focuses on how to eliminate competition by focusing on uncontested market space and making competition irrelevant.
Meanwhile, president of the CMU Professor Fritz Pinnock, who will be the main presenter, will also lead a panel discussion as part of the webinar. Members of the panel will include principal of the UWI Professor Dale Webber; president of the Northern Caribbean University, Dr Lincoln Edwards; labour market specialist at the Inter-American Development Bank, Fernando Yittzack Pavon; and chief executive officer of the Wisynco Group Limited, William Mahfood.
