President Trump tweeted an image of Friday’s New York Post cover, which had the bold headline, “TRUMP CLEAN.”The cover followed Thursday’s release of the Mueller report and teased an editorial that began, “Not guilty. Of collusion or obstruction. That’s essentially what the Mueller report… confirms.”
Minutes after the Saturday evening tweet, the president retweeted White House social media chief Dan Scaviono, who wrote: “I am with the President at the Southern White House, I have never seen him happier!”Trump is at his Mar-a-Lago resort through Easter weekend.
Minutes after Attorney General William Barr read out a summary of the report to be released later in the day, Trump tweeted a picture of himself staring into the mists of battle with the tagline: “No collusion, no obstruction … For the haters and the radical left Democrats … Game Over.”
Little more than an hour later, Trump repeated the “no collusion, no obstruction” line at a White House event honoring wounded warriors for their annual bike ride. “There never was,” the president said, and he suggested he would look into how the investigation began.
