Gov. Justice appoints new member to State Board of Education

Gov. Jim Justice has appointed Greg Wooten as the newest member to the West Virginia State Board of Education.
“Greg Wooten is a fantastic addition to the West Virginia State Board of Education,” Gov. Justice said Friday. “With his wealth of experience and dedication to our great state, he will bring fresh perspectives to our education system. I’m thrilled about the positive impact he will help make for the students and families of West Virginia.”
Wooten began his career at Zapata Fuels in planning and permitting before moving on to Ridgeway Fuels and Triple Elkhorn Mining in eastern Kentucky, working in production and operations roles. He spent 25 years managing landowner interests for oil, gas, coal, aggregate and timber holdings with Dingess Rum Properties. Wooten also spent time with Natural Resource Partners, eventually moving up to become Senior Vice President & Chief Engineer.
According to a release from the Governor’s Office, Wooten has served as a member of the Logan County Chamber of Commerce, the Chief Logan Recreation Foundation, the Hatfield-McCoy Trail Authority, the Hatfield-McCoy Convention and Visitors Bureau and the Logan County Board of Education.
